The arts community will unite next year to promote Arts & Ecology Day, a new attempt to tackle climate change by raising environmental awareness amongst both the general public and business community in London. The RSA, which is running the initiative in association with Bash Creations, supported by the London Sustainable Development Commission, has been consulting with the sector about the most effective ways in which the arts community can engage with environmental issues. Applauding the plans, Justine Simons, Head of Cultural Strategy for the Mayor of London, said, “…the creative industries in the capital… have shown real leadership in tackling climate change and specifically in the development of practical green guides for film, music and theatre industries.”
