A £300,000 project to create a new public artwork has been launched to tie in with the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Velocity, a partnership between Glasgow Life, Glasgow City Council, Creative Scotland and Clyde Gateway Urban Regeneration Company, is seeking an artist or team of creative practitioners to work on the project, where community engagement will be a key part of the commission. The project aims to create a permanent artwork of international significance for both the city and the Commonwealth, which will retain cultural relevance to Glasgow’s East End.
