Yellow plaques have been unveiled on the walls of 15 charities across the UK which have benefited from people leaving gifts to them in their wills. The plaques, inspired by the blue plaques awarded by English Heritage, have been launched by Remember a Charity which seeks to raise the profile of legacies. In recent years gifts in wills have brought in around £2 billion (the equivalent of 19 Comic Reliefs) and account for 30 per cent of the income of the UK’s top ten charities.
