Leading dance artists from The Place’s ‘Work Place’ scheme will be showcasing contemporary dance practices at the home of one of its major sponsors, Bloomberg SPACE, from 19 to 27 November. A series of site-specific installations, performances, video documentations and impromptu one-off dances will offer an insight into the creative process of dance artists, and mark the end of Bloomberg SPACE’s two-year COMMA, programme of commissions, which was designed to enable artists to experiment and expand their work. Bloomberg’s free-admission gallery, which opened in 2002, is based at its European headquarters in London and is dedicated to collaborating with artists and commissioning and exhibiting contemporary art. Its next step will be to bring together its two philanthropic aims of commissioning new works and supporting the programmes of cultural institutions across the world. The gallery is to be divided into three distinct spaces to provide new opportunities for artists and institutions and to engage audiences in new ways.
