ENO and A&B escape
Funding will continue for English National Opera (ENO) and Arts & Business (A&B), according to the October 2008 minutes of Arts Council England (ACE), released last week. Both were being monitored by ACE following the 2008 funding review. ENO will receive its allocated funding, representing an uplift of 2.7%, and recent enhanced monitoring by ACE will be reduced. Progress made by A&B in developing “a more tailor-made approach” and improvements to training and research were noted by ACE. The Council decided to continue to fund the organisation but to maintain regular monitoring.
