Children playing outside The Geffrye Museum

A new initiative designed to connect ten neighbourhood museums and galleries across London has been launched, to coincide with the opening of London Overground’s East London Line. ‘CultureLine’ links cultural buildings between Dalston Junction in the east and West Croydon, New Cross and Crystal Palace in the south east of the city. The galleries and museums are all within walking distance of a stop on the line. They are: Hackney Museum, Geffrye Museum, Wesley’s Chapel, The Royal London Hospital Museum, Whitechapel Gallery, The Women’s Library, Brunel Museum, Horniman Museum, Crystal Palace Museum and Museum of Croydon. The Estorick Art Gallery will become the eleventh museum to join CultureLine, in 2011 when the East London Line reaches Highbury & Islington.
