A small Liverpool based dance charity has triumphed as Social Enterprise of the Year at Liverpool’s Women in Business awards. The all female Merseyside Dance Initiative, which promotes dance as an artform and route to wellbeing, beat five competitors to win the award. It is the latest in a long line of accolades for the 20-year-old arts charity, which also won a BeMOBO at the 2010 MOBO Awards in Liverpool and marked 2012 with an MBE honour to artistic director Karen Gallagher for her services to dance.
