Creative England, the new body taking on the work of the Regional Screen Agencies following the abolition of the UK Film Council, is consulting on its strategic priorities for 2011/12. These include the nurturing of film culture through a network of cultural programmes across England. The proposals aim to promote innovative approaches to the exhibition and distribution of film. In partnership with the BFI, Arts Council England and others, this will include a focus on film heritage, film festivals and increased use of film archive material. Creative England will be contributing to a wider review of film policy and it will be implementing the outcomes of that review from April 2012 onwards.
