For the fifth year, a deal involving the Royal Opera House, The Sun newspaper and the Helen Hamlyn Trust will enable anyone who is not already registered on the Opera House’s ticketing system to enter a draw to win the cheaper tickets to the ballet, priced between £5 and £19.50. The ‘Christmas Treat’ performance of ‘The Nutcracker’ is offered as part of the ROH’s aim to welcome new audiences to the iconic venue, and it reports a third of visitors involved in the scheme from previous years have returned for other performances. Would-be attenders can enter by signing up on The Sun’s website.
