Arts Award, the scheme that supports young people to develop as artists and arts leaders, has named 1 October as ‘Start Your Arts Award Day’. As part of the award’s tenth birthday celebrations, Arts Award centres across the UK – including schools, arts organisations, libraries, museums and clubs – will be running activities to inspire young people to sign up. The initiative is also linked to BBC Arts Get Creative, the year-long celebration of British arts, culture and creativity.

Around 213,000 young people, aged up to 25, have so far completed the qualification and scheme leaders Trinity College London are aiming for that number to grow to 250,000 by the end of July next year. 6,653 centres across the country have been involved in delivering the award, including nearly 2,000 from the arts and cultural sector.

Organisations that offer activities, events, expertise or resources which could help young people working towards their qualification can register as an Arts Award Supporter.
