Arts Council England’s (ACE) new Executive Board, the team that will lead the restructured organisation from April 2010, will include four of ACE’s current Regional Directors. Moira Sinclair (London), Andrea Stark (East and South East) and Laura Dyer (Midlands and South West) will take three of the top four new regional roles. The appointment process is unfinished in the North, which is currently led by Aileen McEvoy (North West), Mark Robinson (North East) and Andy Carver (Yorkshire). Carver will undertake the regional role in the interim period, but has announced his intention to step down when a permanent appointment is made. Felicity Harvest, Sally Luton and Aileen McEvoy, currently leading the South East, West Midlands and North West regions respectively, will be leaving the Arts Council. The new Head Office appointments are Alison Cole (Executive Director, Communications), Althea Efunshile (Chief Operating Officer), Anupam Ganguli (Executive Director Resources) and Andrew Nairne (Executive Director Arts). All members of the new Board will take up their roles in a designate capacity from September, but will continue in their current jobs until the new structure is established. ACE aims to complete recruitment to this new structure by Christmas 2009. ACE’s restructuring exercise has been prompted by Government demands for cost-savings by arts funders. In its latest Annual Review for 2008/9, published last month, ACE revealed that its Executive Directors received total remuneration of £1.5m, and a total of 23 members of staff earned in excess of £60,000 a year.
