80% of visits to Cultural Olympiad and London Festival were to free events
19.8m people attended events at the London 2012 festival, but the majority of people choose those were to free to enter, such as All The Bells, BBC Radio 1 Hackney Weekend and BT River of Music. 85 % of attenders said the London 2012 Festival was a positive addition to the Games while 35% of UK adults polled agreed that more people took part in culture due to the Games. The event has also left a legacy of 176 permanent artworks. These figures come from interim results of polling and research on attitudes to the events, with a final report on the impact and legacy of London 2012 Festival and Cultural Olympiad due be completed by University of Liverpool’s Institute of Cultural Capital in Spring 2013.
