DAVID ROSS has been reappointed by the Secretary of State as Chair of the National Portrait Gallery.

A Conservative party donor, Ross has been a trustee of the gallery since 2006 and was first appointed Chair in 2017. He is slated to hold the position for another four years.

He also co-chaired the Events Research Programme, which tested the return of live events following coronavirus restrictions.

Earlier this year, Ross stepped down as Chair of the Royal Opera House after just nine months.
