Dance Base Scotland

MORAG DEYES is to step down from her role as Artistic Director at Dance Base Scotland in September.

She joined the organisation in 1994, and during her time there has overseen the creation of a custom-built dance studio and led the organisation’s creative vision. Other highlights during her time at Dance Base have been winning the 2009 Spirit of the Fringe Award,  hosting and programming the dance showcase British Dance Edition in 2014, and founding PRIME, Scotland’s first semi-professional dance company for over-60s.

A new Artistic Director is expected to be in post by September 2021, but Deyes will still programme her final Dance Base Edinburgh Festival Fringe programme in 2022 and support a number of existing projects during a transition year.
