Dr NJABULO CHIPANGURA has been named as Manchester Museum's Curator of Living Cultures.

Chipangura has previously worked with the National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe as a curator in its archaeology department.

He is an advisory board member for the Solidarity in Action Network (UK) and his first book, Museums as Agents for Social Change: Collaborative Programmes at the Mutare Museum, was published in April.

Chipangura will be involved in the co-curation of the museum’s new South Asia Gallery, the UK’s first permanent space dedicated to exploring the stories, experiences and cultures of South Asian communities.

The museum is currently closed to the public due to ongoing construction, with a reopening scheduled for late 2022.
