Bike Shed Theatre Co-Founder DAVID LOCKWOOD will be Chief Executive of The Arts Development Company from February.

After founding the Exeter theatre, Lockwood joined Trowbridge Town Hall as Director, securing £8.1m for a capital redevelopment and increasing visitorship by up to 900%.

He has also been a Trustee and Vice Chair of Libraries Unlimited in Devon and a Clore Leadership Fellow in 2015.

Lockwood said he looks forward to working on "radical creative solutions to increase social justice" with The Arts Development Company.

Board Chair HAZEL PROVINCE said: "David’s belief in the power of culture and creativity to improve the lives of people and communities is exciting and infectious. He brings to Dorset that passion along with his extensive knowledge, experience and networks and an entrepreneurial approach that is just what we need."
