Omar Khan and Hannah Treadaway

The Regional Theatre Young Director Scheme (RYTDS) has named five freelance directors and theatremakers in its pilot professional development scheme.

ALISTAIR WILKINSON, CAROLINE WILKES, DONNA BRISCOE-GREEN, HANNAH TREADAWAY and OMAR KHAN will work alongside the organisation for seven months as Connect Artists.

Each has identified a group of theatre artists they are committed to supporting.

RYTDS says the creatives will have time to read, reflect, think, write, attend workshops and run discussion groups or advice sessions.

"We wanted to pilot a scheme that was not prescriptive and focused largely on what could sustain and energise the participating artists," said Artistic Director SUE EMMAS.
