The Mowlem theatre in Swanage, Dorset, has appointed KATE MCGREGOR as its executive director.

McGregor, who will be relocating from Bristol to take up her new role, is originally from Dorset.

For 14 years, she was the artistic director of Theatre6 theatre company, which she founded in 2009.

She is currently creative producer for Valley Arts in the Chew Valley and Mendips area, for whom she co-directed the large-scale community play, ‘Rising Waters’, in 2024.

Chair of The Mowlem trustees, ROBIN SUTCLIFFE, said: “Kate’s appointment is the start of the next exciting phase of The Mowlem’s development.

“We are delighted that Kate has accepted this post as she will bring new perspectives of production, direction and fundraising to The Mowlem.

“It is the next step in realising the business plan that we agreed to last year.”

McGregor added: ““This is my dream job, and having worked in theatre for more than 18 years, it brings together a combination of my skills.”
