Emma Flatley, Director of Rubicon Dance, has joined the Film Agency for Wales as Head of Exhibition and Education. She has previously worked as Project Manager for Skillset Screen Academy Wales and as Marketing Events and Sponsorship Manager for the International Film Festival of Wales.

Tom Service, who was Chief Classical Music Critic for the Guardian and has presented Music Matters on BBC Radio 3 since 2003, is the new Chair of Contemporary Music for All. The previous Chair, Laurence Rose, stepped down after three years in the role.

The new Chair of the charity AD:uk (formerly nalgao) is former Treasurer Jane Wilson. She takes over from Lorna Brown, who was Chair for the past 4 years. Ian Anstee, Director of Live Music Now NW, is the new Treasurer, and Helen Paton, Commissioning Manager for Culture at Cheshire East Council, is a new Trustee.

Two new members of staff have joined the Theatre Centre team: Sarah Nutland as Office and Tour Co-ordinator, and Marigold Hughes as Schools Producer.

Madeline Radcliff is the new Policy and Campaigns Assistant for the National Campaign for the Arts.
Gillian Cook has been appointed as Marketing Assistant at Glasgow’s Cultural Enterprise Office. Her previous experience includes work in retail banking, charities, the visual arts and theatre.

New joint managers have been appointed at Gloss-Art Exeter: Polly Dolby and Lucinda Cusdin are now responsible for sourcing fine and applied arts for exhibition and sale, generating special and solo exhibitions and creating new events.
 

Southbank Sinfonia has announced that James Murphy will be its new Managing Director. He joins from the National Youth Orchestra, prior to which he was Marketing and Communications Manager at the Royal College of Music.

Sir Christopher Bland has handed over his role as Chairman of the Royal Shakespeare Company to Nigel Hugill, and announced the intention of Michael Boyd and Vikki Heywood to step down from their respective roles as Artistic Director and Executive Director by the end of next year, after almost a decade at the helm. 

Artistic Director Dee Evans will be leaving the Mercury Theatre Colchester in January after 14 years at the organisation.

Talawa Theatre Company has appointed Michael Buffong as its new Artistic Director. He has worked previously as a director in television and theatre, including with Talawa, and will succeed Patricia Cumper, who is stepping down after five years in post.

Alastair Upton is the new Chief Executive of The Creative Foundation in Folkestone. He joins from the Bluecoat in Liverpool, where he has been chief executive for five years. Prior to this he was for ten years the Director of Charleston, the historic Sussex home of Bloomsbury Group artists Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant.

Charles Gregson, Chairman of ICAP, is also the new Chairman of the Public Catalogue Foundation (PCF) He is joined by two new Trustees on the Board: Alex Morrison, Managing Director and Founder of Cogapp, and Marc Sands, Director of Audiences and Media at Tate. These changes follow the retirement of PCF Founder, Dr Fred Hohler, as Chairman, and Dr Alan Borg and John van Kuffeler as Trustees.

Mark Prescott, Director of Spark and former Head of Cultural Campaigns at the Mayor’s Office in London, will be taking up the role of Director of the Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queens, to programme the 50th anniversary of the festival in 2012.

Interim Press and PR Consultant Susie Haywood is holding the fort at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

The Design and Artists Copyright Society has announced the appointment of Mark Stephens CBE as its new Chair, replacing Andrew Potter who steps down at the end of this year.

Michelle Lord is the new Arts Development Officer at Cambridge City Council. Her last role was as Arts Administrator for 30 Bird Productions, and prior to that she was the Producer for Learning & Participation at MAC (Midlands Arts Centre) and a Visual Art Lecturer and Coordinator on the Art & Design degree course at Birmingham City University.

Creative England, the new agency supporting England’s film, TV, games, and digital and creative services sectors, has opened for business, announcing the members of its Board members and three senior appointments: Chris Moll is Head of Talent Development; Jay Arnold, Head of Film Culture; and Kaye Elliott, Head of Location and Production Services.
