The Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) has appointed SIMON PALETHORPE as its Executive Director. He has previously worked for Avis, John Lewis, Pepsico and EMI, and he joins from Terra Firma Capital Partners where he was a Business Director. ATG has also announced new roles for some of its existing employees: HELEN ENRIGHT will become Chief Financial Officer; MICHAEL LYNAS is to take on the role of Managing Director; the role of Ticket Director will go to HELEN BROWNLEE; and and VIN GOVENDOR is the new Technology Director.

 

Formerly Chief Executive of Rambert Dance Company, SUE WHYATT has been appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees of artsdepot. She is also a trustee of Hampstead Theatre, the Royal Ballet Benevolent Fund, a member of Arts Council England, London, and Vice Chair of the Council for Dance Education and Training.

Sherman Cymru has appointed MARED SWAIN as its new Associate Director.

Birmingham Royal Ballet has appointed MARION TAIT as Assistant Director. She joined the Royal Ballet School at 15 and has received awards including the Evening Standard Ballet Award for Outstanding Performance.

MARGARET COLEMAN has become the new Chair of Yorkshire Dance. She is Director and co-founder of Coleman Partners Ltd., and until last year was the Regional Director of the Learning and Skills Council.

West Yorkshire Playhouse has announced SIR RODNEY BROOKE CBE as the Chairman of the Board.

The new Artistic Director at the Gate Theatre will be Christopher Haydon, who will take up the position in January 2012. He will take over from Natalie Abrahami and Carrie Cracknell who step down as Joint Artistic Directors in January after nearly five years in the role.

Rebecca Storey, Press and Media Manager for York Theatre Royal and Pilot Theatre Company for the past two years, is joining Shakespeare's Globe next month as Senior Press and PR Officer.

Robin Ticciati will take on the role of Festival Music Director at Glyndebourne from 2014. He is Principal Conductor of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor of the Bamberger Symphoniker.

Beckie Smith is leaving The Brewhouse Theatre & Arts Centre to join The Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury as Marketing and Press Manager. Jonathan Machen will be taking her place as Deputy Marketing Manager.

he Arts Council of Ireland has appointed ORLAITH MCBRIDE as its new Director. She has produced the National Youth Theatre since 2007, is President of the National Youth Council of Ireland and a member of the National Youth Work Advisory Committee. She will take up post in September.

REBECCA STOREY, Press and Media Manager for York Theatre Royal and Pilot Theatre Company, will join Shakespeare’s Globe as Senior Press and PR Officer in August.

The Gate Theatre has a new Artistic Director, CHRISTOPHER HAYDON, taking over from NATALIE ABRAHAMI and CARRIE CRACKNELL who will step down as Joint Artistic Directors in January. Haydon is currently Associate Director of On Theatre and an Associate Director at the Bush Theatre.

JENNY SEALEY (Artistic Director of Graeae theatre company) and BRADLEY HEMMINGS (Artistic Director of Greenwich+Docklands Festival) have been appointed as Artistic Directors of the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

KEVIN O’HARE is to be appointed as Director of The Royal Ballet following the retirement of DAME MONICA MASON in July 2012. He has been Administrative Director of the Company since 2009.
