CARO NEWLING is the new chair of touring theatre company Paines Plough. Newling was a Director of Neal Street Productions, the company co-founded by Sam Mendes, and was in charge of the theatre division. She is a former National Theatre Trustee and a current Trustee of the Society of London Theatre.

Studio Upstairs has appointed ZLATINKA HRISTOVA as Director of both the London and Bristol studios. She replaces co-founder Douglas Gill who has stepped down after 23 years.

PROFESSOR SHEARER WEST is leaving her post as Director of Research at the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and will join Oxford University in August as the next Head of the Humanities Division.
 

VERITY SLATER joins Modern Art Oxford as Director - Strategy and Development. She has worked at The Wellcome Trust, and within the visual arts team at Arts Council England South East. In 2010, she set up Very Special Projects, an independent company working on production, strategy and consultancy projects with a range of organisations including DACS and Tate.

DOM JINKS is leaving Arts Council England East Midlands, where he is Senior Manager, Regional Planning, to become Arts & Culture Manager
at the University of Exeter.

Director of the National Campaign for the Arts, LOUISE DE WINTER, is leaving to become Chief Executive of The Urology Foundation.

CRAIG MORROW (former Artistic Associate at the Brewhouse Theatre in Taunton) has been appointed Artistic Director at the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre.

The Corn Exchange and New Greenham Arts has appointed KATY GRIFFITHS as its new Director, taking over from NICK GILES who recently became Executive Producer at London’s Donmar Warehouse.

Former Chief Executive of ATG theatres and the Theatre Royal Brighton JULIEN BOAST is to become Director of Hall for Cornwall.

Conductor and musician PETER OUNDJIAN will be the next Music Director of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO), starting in 2012.

The organisation that promotes professional development for theatre workers, Skillscence, has appointed theatre manager and producer KEN BENNETT-HUNTER as its new Chair. Formerly Administrative Director of the Theatre Royal Stratford East, he is series editor of The Stage e-book career guides and has contributed to management training courses in Finland and South Korea.

Nalgao has appointed five trustees with regional responsibilities as it becomes Arts Development UK. GAIL BROWN (London and the South East), HELEN MIAH (South West and West Midlands), CHRISTINE WILLISON (Wales), ANNIE O’NEILL (North east, North West and Yorkshire) and JAYNE KNIGHT (Eastern and East Midlands) will be the links between the regions and the smaller trustee body.
