Audiences London’s Communications Manager, EMMA MCLEAN, has left to join the National Maritime Museum as Digital Marketing Officer.

Performance poetry organisation Apples & Snakes has appointed BOHDAN PIASECKI as its new West Midlands Co-ordinator. A performance poet and host of poetry slams, he will be based at The Drum in Birmingham.

BECKY DUFFIN has joined The Watermill Theatre as Marketing Assistant. She moves from Oxford Shakespeare Company where she was Production Assistant. She replaces SAM PRESTON, who has joined Ambassadors Theatre, Woking as Assistant Marketing Manager.

CLARE LIZZIMORE is the new Associate Director of Hampstead Theatre. She is currently Creative Director of Clean Break Theatre Company.

JUANJO MENA will succeed GIANANDREA NOSEDA as Chief Conductor at the BBC Philharmonic in September 2011. Noseda has held the position since 2002, and will take the new title of Conductor Laureate when he steps down.

MARK WALLINGER has been appointed to Southbank Centre’s Board of Governors.
Arts Inform has two new staff members. HELEN THORN (left) takes over from KATHERINE HILL as Deputy Director. Helen was formerly Assistant Officer, Visual Arts and Literature at Arts Council England, East. CATHERINE ROSE is covering for Director CATHERINE SUTTON during the latter’s maternity leave.

SARAH FISHER is to succeed Susan Royce as Chair of the Board of Trustees of Axis. She was most recently Head of Visual Arts at Arts Council England, North West.

SW Screen in Bristol has a new Communications Manager, TARA MILNE. She was previously Press and Public Affairs Officer at the UK Film Council.

GARETH HUGHES has been appointed as ArtReach Project Manager. He was responsible for aspects of many East Midlands projects including Leicester Expo and Spark Children’s Arts Festival.

The All Party Writers Group has elected JOHN WHITTINGDALE, MP for Maldon, as its new Chair. He is Chairman of the House of Commons Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee.
NATALIA FENYOE, previously Head of Marketing and Communications at Youth Dance England, is now Head of Marketing at the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM). AMANDA COWAN has joined ISM as Membership Officer, moving from Norfolk County Council.

The National Campaign for the Arts has announced KATE ADIE as its new Chair. She takes over from JOAN BAKEWELL, who is retiring after six years in the post.

Opera Company Northern Ireland has appointed OLIVER MEARS as its founding Artistic Director. He has worked with the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Opera North, Scottish Opera and, most recently, the National Opera Studio. He is currently Artistic Director of Second Movement Opera.

SIR PETER MAXWELL DAVIES, Master of the Queen’s Music, is the new President of the Musicians Benevolent Fund. The role of President will replace that of Chairman, which was held for the past 20 years by conductor and composer SIR DAVID WILLCOCKS.
