Conor Mcgivern

The Lyric Theatre, Belfast, has appointed CONOR MCGIVERN as Head of Production and Technical Services. He has spent the past four years running operations at Terry Murphy Scenery International, following 25 years in stage and production management.

Warwick Arts Centre’s Deputy Director and Head of Programming, NEIL DARLISON, will be leaving to take up the post of Director of Theatre (London) for Arts Council England. He has worked with the National Theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre and Southbank Centre. He co-founded Music Beyond Mainstream, which commissions and curates large scale concerts in England and Scotland.

YASMIN CANVIN has been announced as the new Director of Fermynwoods Contemporary Art. She has been working as Interim Director at the organisation since October, and was previously Co-ordinator of East Midlands Visual Art Network.

Music in the Round has appointed ANGUS SMITH as its new Artistic Director. He performs in The Orlando Consort, a classical music group, and has devised and run creative projects for Oundle International Festival. He will replace PETER CROPPER in August.

RACHEL TACKLEY, Director of English Touring Theatre, succeeds DEREK NICHOLLS as President of the Theatrical Management Association.

LAWRENCE JONES, founder of the Manchester-based web hosting firm UKFast, has joined the Board of Directors of Manchester Camerata.
The Federation of Music Services, the organisation that represents all music services in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, has announced that VIRGINIA HAWORTH-GALT is to become its new Chief Executive. She was previously Chief Executive of Artswork, the national youth development agency that provides creative and cultural opportunities for young people at risk. She replaces JOHN WITCHELL.

LAURA WHITTICASE (Applications Co-ordinator) and LUKE MEADOWS (Communications and Events Officer) have joined VANESSA REED (Executive Director), CHARLOTTE RAY (Grants Director) and JAMES HANNAM (Applications Manager) at the PRS for Music Foundation.

NEIL CONSTABLE is to be the new Chief Executive of Shakespeare’s Globe. He has been Executive Director of the Almeida Theatre since 2003, prior to which he worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company. He will take over from PETER KYLE who retires in November.

DAVID BYERS is leaving his role as Chief Executive of the Ulster Orchestra to spend more time composing and pursuing other musicological interests.
IAN WILSON has been announced as the next Associate Composer.

The Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund, has appointed ROGER LAUGHTON CBE as a member of its Board of Trustees. He is Chair of the Screen Heritage Programme Board, and is also on the boards of the Arts University College of Bournemouth, Metfilm and the Services Sound and Vision Corporation.

The Old Red Lion theatre has announced its new Artistic Directors: HENRY FILLOUX-BENNETT, STEPHEN MAKIN and KELLIE SPOONER. The three are Producers for Le Nez Productions, and take over from HELEN DEVINE.

LISA LE FEUVRE is to be the new Head of
Sculpture Studies of the Henry Moore Institute, taking up the post in autumn 2010. She is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Art on the postgraduate Curating Programme at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
