ROSE FENTON is the new Chair of Without Walls, the consortium of eight UK arts festivals. She was the Founder and Co-Director of the London International Festival of Theatre (LIFT).

The Artistic Director of the Barbican Centre GRAHAM SHEFFIELD has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of West Kowloon Cultural District Authority in Hong Kong. The district is currently incomplete, but will eventually house more than
15 arts venues. Sheffield will take up his new post in August.

Visual arts consultant WENDY LAW has been appointed as the Visual Arts Co-ordinator for
West Midlands. She will work with a new Visual Arts Strategy Group to develop a strategy for the region as part of Arts Council England’s Turning Point network.
CARRIE CRACKNELL, DANIEL KRAMER and SACHA WARES have been appointed Associate Directors at the Young Vic. Current Associate Director JOE HILL-GIBBINS has a new role as Genesis Fellow and Deputy Artistic Director.

The UK Film Council has appointed MARY FITZPATRICK as Head of Diversity. She formerly worked within the BBC and before that was Editorial Manager, Cultural Diversity at Channel 4. She is also a Council Member of the National Youth Theatre, a member of the BAFTA Education Committee, and Director of the Arts Club.

Leicester Theatre Trust has appointed Professor Philip Tasker as Chair of its Board of Trustees. Professor Tasker is currently the Vice-Chancellor of De Montfort University, a post from which he will retire at the end of the current academic year.
ANDREW GOURLAY will join the Hallé as Assistant Conductor in September 2010. A pianist and trombonist by training, he has worked as a conductor with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Ballet and English Touring Opera, as well as presenting The Early Music Show on BBC Radio 3.

Bill Elms Associates has a new Communications Manager, JOHN BRIDGE. Prior to his appointment, he was Marketing and PR Officer at the Unity Theatre and formerly worked in the marketing department of the Liverpool Empire Theatre. Bill Elms Associates has moved to Liverpool’s Cultural Quarter.

CALLUM THOMSON is leaving his post as Head of Marketing and Media at the Incorporated Society of Musicians, to spend six months with the development team at the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra in Minnesota, and work as a radio producer for American Public Media.
