Sir Brian McMaster

LIFT Festival has appointed Laura Greenfield as Development Manager and Hannah Kerr as Communications and Marketing Manager. Laura was formerly Fundraising Manager at Clean Break and continues to be Chair of fringe theatre company Fanshen. Hannah joins from Shoreditch Trust where she was Manager of Shoreditch Audiences.
Writing East Midlands, a new writing agency, has made two appointments to join Chief Executive, Henderson Mullin. Antonia Bell, who was Office Manager for AI Digital, a Brighton based on-line digital marketing agency, will become PA and Operations Manager. Catherine Rogers, previously Literature Development Officer for Derby City Council, is Projects and Marketing Manager.
 

Sir Brian McMaster (pictured), former Director of the Edinburgh International Festival and author of the DCMS report, ‘Supporting Excellence in the Arts: From Measurement to Judgement’, has joined the Board of the Barbican Centre. He joins three other recently appointed external Board members: Roly Keating, the BBC’s Director of Archive Content and former Controller of BBC2; Sue Robertson, Principal of Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and former director of London Arts; and Christopher Purvis CBE. Purvis has been appointed as the first Chairman of the Barbican’s new Development Committee.
Central School of Ballet has appointed Sara Matthews as Director, succeeding Bruce Sansom who is leaving to join the artistic staff of San Francisco Ballet.
The Chief Executive of the Gabrieli Consort and Players, Ivan Rockey, has resigned, citing differences between himself and the ensemble’s Founder and Artistic Director, Paul McCreesh, as the principal factor behind his decision. He was appointed last year, as a successor to General Manager, Ole Baekhoe.
Henrietta Duckworth is taking maternity leave from West Yorkshire Playhouse until January 2010. Pat Weller will be acting as Producer in her absence.
