Eddie Nixon has been appointed Director of Theatre and Artist Development at The Place. A former dancer, he was previously Associate Director of Theatre and Artist Development at The Place. He will succeed John Ashford, who leaves the role after 23 years in July.

The Contemporary Art Society has appointed Mark Doyle as Head of Collector Development, North West region. He joins from the Lowry, where he held a curatorial post.
Liz O’Neill (pictured), founder of PANDA (Performing Arts Network and Development Agency) is moving on to take up the role of Chief Executive at Zion Arts Centre in Hulme, Manchester. She formerly ran her own touring company and worked as a freelance creative producer and consultant, most recently acting as Executive Producer at Contact, Manchester’s theatre for young people.
Scotland’s Cultural Enterprise Office has appointed Mark Bremner as its new Aberdeen and Grampian Adviser. Mark is an established digital media artist working both freelance and as a Community Arts Officer within Aberdeen City Council's Arts Development team. He replaces Jim Ewen.
Katy Beale has moved from the position of Marketing and Development Manager at Kinetika to the Tate as a Marketing Associate, on a Cultural Leadership Programme Peach Placement.
Polka Theatre has announced two new appointments. Samantha Tai (pictured), formerly Marketing Manager at The Broadway, Barking, takes up the post of Head of Marketing. Caroline Downing (pictured) becomes Head of Fundraising. She comes from Action for Children, where she worked as Senior Executive Fundraising.
Following the appointment of Daniel Brine as Director of Performance Space, Sydney, CJ Mitchell has been appointed as Deputy Director of the Live Art Development Agency in London, and will take up his post in May. He was Executive Director of the Links Hall performance space in Chicago and before that was Managing Director of Performing Arts Chicago.
Jack Fortescue is the new Communications Officer at Acme Studios. He was previously Publications, Website and Marketing Officer for engage, the National Association for Gallery Education, where he is replaced by Laura Cherry.
Dance companies, The Cholmondeleys and The Featherstonehaughs, have introduced the role of Development Producer to broaden their profile in international markets. The role has been taken by Gemma Kicks, former General Manager. Jo Stendall, formerly Project Co-ordinator for the company, steps into the role of General Manager.
Debbie Wilcox (pictured), Robin Morrison (pictured), Ian Rees (pictured) and Maggie Hampton (pictured) have all been re-appointed as members of Arts Council Wales. The current terms of appointment of all four members end on 31 March, and they have all agreed to serve a further term until 31 March 2012.
Liverpool Biennial has appointed Lorenzo Fusi as Curator for ‘International’, the lead exhibition of the biennial festival of contemporary art. He will be working on the development of the programme for the next festival which will take place in 2010. He is currently Curator of ‘sms contemporanea’ in Siena, Italy, and will take up his new post in May.
Susan Tranter is the new Online Manager for the Northwest Cultural Observatory.
