The Scottish Government has announced that Ewan Brown (pictured) will formally become Chair of Creative Scotland when it is established next year. He is currently Vice Chairman of the Edinburgh International Festival, a non-executive Director of Noble Grossart, Lloyds TSB Group and Stagecoach Group, and Senior Governor of the Court of the University of St Andrews.

Jane Cooper, currently Interim Director of Communications at the Department for Children, Schools and Families, has been appointed Director of Communications at the DCMS. She will take up her post early in 2009.
The Chair of the Clore Leadership Programme will be Sir John Tusa from January. He is Chairman of the Court of Governors for the University of the Arts London, Chairman of the Wigmore Hall Trust and a Vice Chairman of the British Museum.
NESTA, the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts, has appointed Stian Westlake as Executive Director of the Policy & Research Unit. A Senior Associate at The Young Foundation, he will replace Richard Halkett.
Iniva, the Institute of International Visual Arts, has appointed Tessa Jackson (pictured) as Interim Chief Executive Officer. She is Artistic Director / Chief Executive of Artes Mundi, Wales’ International Visual Art Prize, which she continues to lead. Paula Kahn has replaced Stuart Hall, who was Chair of the Board for 15 years.
Sally Lai is the new Chief Executive Officer of the Chinese Arts Centre. She has recently been working as Assistant Director and Head of Programmes at firstsite gallery in Colchester.
Jon Opie is the new Administrator at the Independent Theatre Council. He was previously Development Manager at Hampstead Theatre.
Professor Mick Durman, formerly Dean of Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, is the new Vice Chair of The Drum, the national centre for Black British arts and culture. The position was previously held by Joy Warmington.
Susie Alcock is leaving the Crafts Study Centre to return to freelance marketing and PR consultancy.
Elliot Rose is the new Marketing Manager at The Unicorn Theatre. He replaces Richard Coopey, who is leaving to become Marketing Advisor at The British Film Institute.
Victoria Hodgson has joined Hull Truck Theatre as Manager of Marketing and Sales. She was previously Marketing and Exhibitions Manager at Beam in Wakefield.
Arts Council England, East, has appointed Mark Richards as Acting Head of Development, replacing Paul Russ.
Northumbrian musician and winner of BBC Radio 2 Folk Award’s Musician of the Year in 2005, Kathryn Tickell, is to become Artistic Director of Folkworks at the Sage Gateshead from September next year.
Kate Carreno (pictured above left), formerly Deputy Director, Public Services and Administration at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, is now Assistant Director, Central Services at The Fitzwilliam Museum. She succeeds Margaret Greeves (pictured above centre) who is becoming Head of Public Engagement. Nicola Khandpur (pictured above right), Development Director at the Norfolk and Norwich Festival, will join the Sainsbury Centre in January as Head of Administration, Development and Public Services.
Brighton Festival has appointed Turner prize-winning artist Anish Kapoor CBE to the newly created role of Guest Artistic Director for 2009
Bartlett Sher is the new Resident Director of Lincoln Center Theater in New York. He will retain his position as Artistic Director of the Intiman Theater in Seattle.

Michael Stanley is Modern Art Oxford’s new Director. He was most recently Director of Milton Keynes Gallery, and prior to that was Gallery Curator at Ikon, Birmingham. Apologies for any confusion arising from AP181.
