Barbara Follett (pictured), a former Parliamentary Private Secretary at the DCMS, has been appointed as England’s new Minister for Culture, the Creative Industries and Tourism. She replaces Margaret Hodge, who has stood down for personal reasons.

Richard Leigh is the new Assistant Marketing Manager at The Regent Theatre & Victoria Hall in Stoke-on-Trent. He worked there previously as Marketing Officer, but more recently has been Assistant Marketing Manager at the Symphony Hall & Town Hall in Birmingham.

Performance artist, Claire Morgan, has joined Apples & Snakes to develop and promote performance poetry in the North East. She will be based at The Arc in Stockton.

Susan Garnsworthy (pictured), currently Acting Director of Dumfries & Galloway Arts Association, has been confirmed as the organisation’s new Director, following the retirement last December of Jenny Wilson.

Dr Michael Downes, previously Director of Music at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, is taking over from Acting Director, Gillian Craig, as the new Director of Music at the University of St Andrews.

Youth arts agency, Bright Space, has appointed five new members of staff: Alex McCorkindale as Programme Co-ordinator, Lisa Spink as Programme Manager, Anne Watson as Finance Officer, Anne-Marie Vassiliadis as Office Administrator and Marcia Springer as Communications Officer.

Haley Roe has joined the growing research team at Audiences Yorkshire. She previously worked as a theatre technician and teacher of technical theatre.

Emma Walker (pictured) has left Arts About Manchester, where she was Audience Development Manager, to become Director of craftscotland, the promotion agency for Scotland’s contemporary crafts.

Martin Reynolds is the new Head of Marketing responsible for developing and implementing a joint marketing strategy for the 13 members of Festivals Edinburgh. He has ten years strategic marketing experience, including work with Sydney Opera House, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and The National Galleries of Scotland.

Judith Clark (pictured) is taking over as General Manager of the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra. Ivan Rockey leaves to take up the position of Chief Executive of the Gabrieli Consort and Players.
Ola Animashawun, Associate Director of the Royal Court Theatre and Head of its Young Writers Programme, is now Associate Artist at Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre.

Sarah Clover (pictured) has returned to Action Transport Theatre Company as its Director. Most recently she has been working with WebPlay in the USA, but prior to this she was General Manager/Deputy Chief Executive of Action Transport.

Dawn Walton has become the first Artistic Director of Eclipse Theatre, the Black and Asian British theatre initiative managed by a consortium comprising West Yorkshire Playhouse, The New Wolsey, Ipswich and Birmingham Repertory Theatre, and currently hosted by West Yorkshire Playhouse.

Maricia Klincke (pictured) has been appointed as Managing Director of CM (formerly Community Music) and is joined by Gawain Hewitt (pictured), who is the new Creative Director.

The Central School of Speech and Drama has announced that Harold Pinter will be its new president, succeeding Peter Mandelson in this role. Former presidents include Sir Laurence Olivier and Dame Judi Dench.

The Scottish Chamber Orchestra has announced the appointment of Robin Ticciati as Principal Conductor, after a successful three-concert Highland Tour this summer.
