Benedetta Tiana has been appointed as a new Heritage Lottery Fund London Committee Member. She is a freelance museum consultant, contributing to museum strategies in Italy, France and Slovenia and the Middle East, and was previously the Senior Interpretation Manager at Event Communications.

The Association of British Orchestras has announced the appointment of Peter Harrap, Chorus and Orchestra Director at Welsh National Opera, to its Board of Directors. He replaces Hazel Province, who has stepped down following her appointment as Director of Planning at the Royal Opera House.

Sir Michael Lickiss (pictured), chartered accountant and former Senior Partner of Grant Thornton, is the new Chair of the Theatre Royal Plymouth and Plymouth Pavilions. He was previously Chair of the British Tourist Authority and the first Chair of the South West of England Regional Development Agency.

Jo Gordon, currently Acting Head of Marketing at Oxford Playhouse, has been appointed as Marketing and Sales Director of Royal & Derngate, Northampton. She is currently working as Freelance Director of her own arts marketing company and will take up her new post in the autumn.

Anne Engel (pictured) takes the role of Development Officer for Live Music Now. Her previous roles have included Prince’s Trust Head of European Programmes and launching London Youth Arts Network.

Michael Eakin, Executive Director of Arts Council North West, has been appointed Chief Executive of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. He succeeds Sue Harrison, who was appointed Interim Chief Executive, following Mick Elliott’s appointment as Director of Culture at the DCMS.

Salisbury International Arts Festival has appointed Maria Bota (pictured) as the new Festival Director. She was Deputy Chief Executive and Marketing Director at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall before winning a fellowship on the Clore Leadership Programme.

The playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah and the Chairman and Chief Executive of The Penguin Group John Makinson have been appointed to the Board of the National Theatre.

Full Body and The Voice Theatre Company, Huddersfield, has appointed published author and playwright Vanessa Brooks (pictured) as its Artistic Director.

Vidar Hjardeng, currently the Political and Diversity advisor with ITV Central, is the new Chair of VocalEyes. He is an associate with the Broadcasting and Creative Industries’ Disability Network and advises ITN on their political show for Channel 4. He is also a trustee for the RNIB, National Blind Children’s Society, Birmingham Focus on Blindness and the British Institute of Learning Disabilities.
