Brighton Photo Biennial has appointed Helen Cadwallader as Executive Director. Previously at Arts Council England, she will replace John Gill who retires in August. Julian Stallabrass has been appointed guest Curator for the 2008 edition of Brighton Photo Biennial, a role which he will combine with teaching art history at the Courtauld Institute of Art.

Shirley Kirk is stepping down as Director of South West Arts Marketing to become a business and audience development consultant. Jo Dereza will be Acting Director until Shirleys replacement has been appointed.

Sarah Jane Kerr (pictured) has joined Impact Arts (Glasgow) as Deputy Director, leading all operational aspects of programme delivery. Previously she was Deputy Director of Nations and Regions at Pact, the trade association for content production companies working in TV, film, interactive media and animation.
The new Director of North Edinburgh Arts Centre is Claire Hicks, who was formerly at The Lyric, Hammersmith in the post of Studio and Education Director.

Katie Whitehurst, Marketing Communications Co-ordinator at The National Archives, is to join Audiences London as Audience Development Officer. Sarah Boiling is Interim Chief Executive to cover Anne Torreggianis maternity leave.

Rachel Tackley (pictured), currently Creative Producer for English Touring Theatre, will become the company's Director and Chief Executive when Stephen Unwin steps down in 2008.

Arnolfini has announced the appointment of a new Curator of Exhibitions, Nav Haq (pictured), who will join the programming team at the end of August. He is currently curating the 3rd Contour Biennial for Video Art, Belgium, and is also a Guest Editor at Book Works, London.

Ed McKeon, previously Development Manager at the London Sinfonietta and Director of Oxford Contemporary Music, has joined spnm (Society for the Promotion of New Music) as Producer, responsible for the organisations programme of events and projects. Abigail Pogson, currently Executive Director of spnm, will be joining Spitalfields Festival as Executive Director from January 2008, taking over from Judith Serota who is stepping down after 19 years in the role.

After six years at Arts Council England, David Micklem (pictured) is moving on to take up the post of Executive Director at Battersea Arts Centre.

Dr Ann Sumner (pictured), currently Head of Fine Art for Amgueddfa Cymru Museum Wales, and based at the National Museum Cardiff, will become Director of the Barber Institute of Fine Arts at the University of Birmingham in October, following the retirement of the current Director, Professor Richard Verdi OBE.

Robin Bellfield is the new Assistant Development Director at The Watermill Theatre. Previously a freelance theatre director for Myrtle Theatre Company at the Tobacco Factory, Bristol, he replaces William Wollen, who is joining The Theatre Royal, Margate, as Artistic Director.

Producer Michael Harrison has been appointed to the new role of Managing Director of the Pantomime Division in the Qdos Group of Companies. Paul Elliott will continue in his role as Creative Consultant along with Jonathan Kiley, who will remain as Casting Director for the Pantomimes Division.

Lord Puttnam has been appointed as Chair of The Sage Gateshead, having recently been appointed as Chancellor of both the Open University and Sunderland University. He replaces Tony Pender who steps down in the autumn.
