Amanda Jones takes the role of Director of External Relations at the Crafts Council, moving from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation where she was Programme Director, Arts & Heritage. Her previous roles have been at arts venues in Derby and Birmingham, the Royal Opera House, the Royal Ballet and the Barbican.

Mick Elliott (pictured), currently Chief Executive of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Associate Cultural Director of Liverpool Capital of Culture, has been appointed as the new Director of Culture at the DCMS. He is a former Chief Executive of the Heart of England Tourist Board and Chief Executive of West Midlands Arts.

Ashley Woodfield, previously of the Festival City Theatre Edinburgh, is now Press Manager at the Design Museum, replacing Amelia Webb.

Nigel Singh (pictured) joins Audiences Central from his post as Head of Arts and Museums at Staffordshire County Council.

Alice-Jane Lingwood joins The Theatre Centre in Shoreditch as Production/Company Stage Manager. Previously she has been freelancing for Greenwich and Lewisham Young People’s Theatre and Trestle Theatre Company.

Battersea Arts Centre is under new leadership, as David Micklem becomes its Joint Artistic Director with David Jubb.

Sarah-Jane Watkinson (pictured) takes the role of Development Manager at the National Dance Teachers Association. Previously, she worked with Sampad South Asian Arts in Birmingham as Programme Manager. She is also Chair of Sonia Sabri Dance Company and a board member of Black Country Touring.

Clive Parkinson has been appointed as Director of Arts for Health at Manchester Metropolitan University, following the retirement of Peter Senior MBE. He was previously Development Director of Arts for Health Cornwall and the project leader for the Invest to Save: Arts in Health project.

Mark Ellis has joined ts.com as Managing Director.

DanceEast has announced that the former Manager of the England football team Graham Taylor (pictured), will be patron of a new government-funded centre for advanced training, The DanceEast Academy.

Sir Christopher Frayling has announced his decision to leave the Royal College of Art as Rector and Professor of Cultural History in summer 2009 to concentrate more on research, writing and broadcasting. He is Chairman of Arts Council England and the longest-serving Trustee of the V&A. He has in the recent past been Chairman of the Design Council, Chairman of the Crafts Study Centre and a Governor of the British Film Institute.

Karen Bradford (pictured) has joined North Kesteven District Council as the new Corporate Director, replacing Clive Redshaw. Karen was formerly Head of Culture and Major Projects at Cannock Chase District Council.

Peter Tyndall, Chief Executive of the Arts Council of Wales for the past six years, will next month be stepping down from this role to take up an appointment as Public Services Ombudsman for Wales.

Youth Music Theatre: UK welcomes Chris Adams (pictured) as Sales and Marketing Manager; he previously worked for Tricycle Theatre and ADC Theatre Cambridge, and Josh Hill as Development Officer responsible for Trusts and Foundations.
