Gwyn L Williams will become the 2012 Cultural Olympiad Creative Programmer for Wales. Formerly a senior music producer for BBC Wales and Director of Theatr Ardudwy in Harlech, he has been Chief Executive of Llangollen International Eisteddfod since 2001.

Mark Courtice will take up a new post as Executive Director of Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company next month, when he steps down from his current position as Director and Chief Executive at New Theatre Royal Portsmouth.

Hampstead Theatre has a new Executive Director. Rebecca Morland (pictured) was formerly Administrative Director at Bristol Old Vic and prior to that she spent nine years at Salisbury Playhouse as Executive Director.

Dr Nicholas Penny is to become the new Director of the National Gallery. Most recently he has been at the National Gallery of Art in Washington where he is currently Senior Curator of Sculpture.

Jo Noble has been appointed as the new Youth Theatre Director at Oxford Playhouse. She has worked with young adults as a lecturer in performing arts at the Oxford & Cherwell Valley College and at Oxford Brookes University.

The new chairman of the Association of British Orchestras will be Timothy Walker AM (pictured), who is Chief Executive and Artistic Director of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He replaces Michael Henson, who is due to retire after three years in the post.

Merville Jones has taken up his new post as Artistic Director of North East Wales Dance. In his career to date he has been a performer, teacher, consultant, director and manager for dance companies, arts organisations and local authorities.

The new Development Director at the Design Commission for Wales is the urban designer and landscape architect, Wendy Richards (pictured). She has helped to deliver a diverse portfolio of design projects, including a major urban park development in Hong Kong’s New Territories and closer to home, the Riverfront Theatre in Newport.

The Chair of the new National English Language Theatre (National Theatre Wales) will be Phil George (pictured). He is the co-founder of BAFTA award winning TV company, Green Bay Media in Cardiff and a former Head of Arts, Music and Features for BBC Wales.

Award-winning director Tim Baker has been appointed Artistic Director of the National Youth Theatre of Wales from 2008.

Shivaji Shiva (pictured), an occasional contributor to ArtsProfessional on legal issues, has left Russell-Cooke Solicitors where he was a partner in the Charity Team, to become Head of Charity Law at Michelmores LLP, and will work from both London and Exeter.

The New Wimbledon Theatre has a new Press Officer. Mark Jones will replace Laura Riches, who is moving on to become General Manager at Magpie Dance Company.
