Sir John Tusa has been appointed Chairman of the Victoria and Albert Museum for a period of four years with effect from 1 November. Sir John is stepping down as Managing Director of the Barbican, and currently chairs an independent arts task force for the Conservative Party.

Cara MacMahon (pictured) is stepping down from the Arts Management department at De Montfort University and is returning to consultancy work with ABL Cultural Consulting.

Zoe Seenan has been appointed Festival Manager of the Newbury Spring Festival, having formerly served as Marketing Manager. She succeeds Bronwen Sutton who leaves the Festival to take up the position of Secretary to the Trustees of the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust.

Deborah Hull and Gary Roskell (pictured) are changing their roles within The Play House, Birmingham. Deborah was previously Teacher/Actor and is now the Artistic and Educational Director. Gary was previously General Manager and will now become Chief Executive.

Opera North has announced the appointment of Adam Pritchard (pictured) as its new Development Director. Previously Adam was Project Manager at Yorkshire Forward.

Claire Pollock has joined Architecture Centre Network (ACN) as Development Associate. She was previously Architecture Officer at Arts Council England National Office. Roseanne McLean has been appointed as Office Manager at ACN.

Julian Clayton (pictured) has been appointed as Chief Executive of The National Youth Orchestras of Scotland (NYOS), having previously served as Director of Music at St Andrews University. He succeeds Richard Chester.

Peter Ansell has been appointed Chief Executive of the Academy of Ancient Music. He is currently Senior Manager for Tours and Projects at the Askonas Holt agency, and succeeds Christopher Lawrence who is leaving to become Bursar of Wolfson College, University of Cambridge.

Clare Roberston is to take up the role of Community Arts Adviser at the Cultural Enterprise Office.

Almut Grüner (pictured) has been appointed as Chief Executive of the Thackray Museum. She was previously Sustainability and Development Manager at MLA, Yorkshire.

David Danzmayr (pictured) has stepped down as Music Director of Ensemble Acrobat, to take up the new post of Assistant Conductor with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

Network has appointed a new part-time Development Director, Jenny Wilson (pictured). She is also working part-time as Arts & Festivals Development Manager at Bradford Council.

Contact, Manchester has appointed Gemma Germains (pictured) as the new Head of Marketing and Communications. She was previously Press and
Marketing Manager for music marketing agency, JUNO.

Hedda Beeby will be appointed the new Artistic and Executive Director of the Watermill Theatre, having previously worked as Joint Director of the Oxford Playhouse, and more recently for Ambassadors Theatre Group and Portobello Productions. She will take over from the Interim Executive Director, James Sargant, who leaves next year.

Rosamunde Hutt (pictured) is to join the Unicorn Theatre as Associate Artistic Director. She was previously Director of Theatre Centre.

Salisbury Playhouse has announced that Philip Wilson has been appointed Artistic Director, succeeding Joanna Read who leaves in July. Currently a freelance director, he takes up the post in the autumn, joining Executive Director Michelle Carwardine-Palmer.
