(L-R) Shirley Rodrigues and Nephertiti Schandorf

Artichoke has appointed five new trustees to its board.

They include World Cities Culture Forum Director of Partnerships LAIA GASCH, sculptor, disability rights activist and arts administrator TONY HEATON OBE and RBC Capital Market's Managing Director and Head of Brand and Marketing for Europe and Asia Pacific DESIRÉE CLARKE NOBLE.

They are joined by London Deputy Mayor for Environment and Energy SHIRLEY RODRIGUES and Artistic Director of social arts charity Peckham Platform NEPHERTITI SCHANDORF.

All five appointees started their terms in April for an initial three-year period, joining an existing team of eight.

Artichoke’s CEO and Artistic Director HELEN MARRIAGE says the new trustees bring a breadth of knowledge that will be incredibly valuable for the organisation as it grows into its third decade.

“We had an amazing response from so many accomplished individuals, and the widespread interest in the role was an extraordinary endorsement of the esteem in which Artichoke is held.”
