After four years as Executive Director at Orange Tree Theatre, which included steering the organisation into a new phase outside of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio, SARAH NICHOLSON has announced that she will step down in Spring 2019.
CARL GROSE, who has worked with Kneehigh as an actor and a writer for the past 24 years – most recently as an Associate Artist – will take up the newly created position of Deputy Artistic Director in November 2018.
CARO NEWLING, Vice President of the Society of London Theatre, is to step down as Chair of theatre company Paines Plough after nine years in the role. She will be replaced by KIM GRANT, head of the theatre company’s audit and risk sub-committee.
CAROLYN SAUNDERS and SARAH MANSELL have also been appointed to the organisation’s board.
HARRIET COOPER, previously Programme Manager for exhibitions and events at Colchester’s Firstsite gallery, has become Head of Programme at Jerwood Visual Arts. She will cover SARAH WILLIAMS’ maternity leave.
Mall Galleries, home to the Federation of British Artists, has announced the appointment of CLARE O’BRIEN as its new CEO from January next year, when LEWIS MCNAUGHT, steps down after 12 years in that role. She is currently Director of Chiswick House and Gardens Trust, prior to which she was at the Wallace Collection as Director of Development and Marketing.
Curator, author and journalist HANNAH AZIEB POOL will be joining the Bernie Grant Arts Centre as Artistic Director in February next year. A trustee of the London International Festival of Theatre and a patron of the SI Leeds Prize, the biannual award for unpublished fiction by UK Black and Asian women, she was recently Senior Programmer for Contemporary Culture at the Southbank Centre and was a programmer of the WOW Women of the World festival.
