The outgoing Music Director of Opera North, RICHARD FARNES, and SIR WILLIAM WORSLEY have been appointed as Vice Presidents of the Ryedale Festival.

JUDITH BLAKE, Leader of Leeds City Council, is to be the new Chair for Core Cities UK. Her appointment follows the departure of SIR RICHARD LEESE, Leader of Manchester City Council, who has been in post for the past three and a half years.
LYNNE WILLIAMS is to become the next Principal of the Guildhall School, starting in early 2017. Currently Director and Chief Executive of Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art, she will take over from BARRY IFE, who has been in post for 12 years and is stepping down to focus on teaching and research.

Head of Culture at City Hall JUSTINE SIMONS has been appointed Deputy Mayor for Culture and Creative Industries by the Mayor of London.
GABRIEL VAN AALST, Chief Executive of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields since mid-2013, is to join America’s New Jersey Symphony Orchestra as its President & CEO from October.
SIMON MAGILL, co-founder of Prime Cut Productions, is to join the MAC Belfast as Creative Director.
Worldwide Chairman of Brand Union, TERRY TYRRELL, is to become Chairman of the Design Council. He replaces MARTIN TEMPLE, who retired recently.
ANGELICA BOMFORD, formerly of Bolton & Quinn, has joined English National Opera (ENO) as Digital Communications Manager.
In addition, CHRISTOPHER CALVERT, Head of Media for the past four and a half years, will leave ENO at the end of July to take up a new role in the Mayor of London’s press office, leading on culture, education and health.
Vice Chair of Turner Contemporary since 2008 CLIVE STEVENS has been appointed Chair of the organisation. He replaces STEPHEN SUNNUCKS, who became Chair in December 2015.
CLAIRE LISHMAN, Media and PR Manager at Birmingham Royal Ballet, has stepped down from her role to pursue “different avenues and adventures”.
