The new General Director at Welsh National Opera will be AIDAN LANG, who will take on the role in July next year. Currently General Director of Seattle Opera, and prior to that General Director of New Zealand Opera, he began his career at the Glyndebourne Festival, before joining Welsh National Opera as a Staff Director.

KATHERINE WATSON, Director of the European Cultural Foundation, will retire at the end of this year, after twelve years of service. Her role will be taken on by ANDRÉ WILKENS, who worked previously at the Open Society Institute and Stiftung Mercator.

After nine years as Chief Executive of Bristol Old Vic, EMMA STENNING is stepping down to become Executive Director of Soulpepper Theatre Company in Toronto. She will leave in November.
Former Executive Director of the National Theatre and co-founder of The Bridge Theatre, NICK STARR, has become Chair of the board at The Yard Theatre.

EDWARD HALL will be stepping down as Artistic Director and Joint Chief Executive of Hampstead Theatre in the spring of 2019 after 10 years at the helm. The theatre credits him with “reviving the theatre and making it a first choice destination for so many theatre-goers”.
HOME’s Artistic Director, WALTER MEIERJOHANN, who played a central role in the development of the overall artistic policy for the organisation ahead of the building’s opening in May 2015, has announced he will be leaving HOME in the autumn to pursue other projects nationally and internationally.
KATY GRIFFITHS, former Director of the Corn Exchange Newbury, and DEBORAH SAWYERR, former Executive Director for Theatre Royal Stratford East, will jointly take on the role of Deputy Executive Director at the Mercury Theatre from the Autumn. The two will divide the responsibilities of the role.

Currently a freelance Casting Director, ANNA COOPER will become the new Casting Director at Donmar Warehouse from September. She will work alongside newly appointed Artistic Director MICHAEL LONGHURST for his first season in 2019.
