SARA PEPPER has been appointed to the newly created role of Director of Creative Economy at Cardiff University. Currently Marketing and Communications Manager at Leadership and Management Wales, she will develop relationships with and support creative organisations in Wales. She has previously worked for the Southbank Centre, the BBC, and the Wales Millennium Centre.
JUDITH WEIR will become the first female Master of the Queen’s Music when she succeeds PETER MAXWELL-DAVIES. The Scottish-born composer has been Resident Composer with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and has written music for the Boston Symphony and BBC Symphony orchestras. Past holders of the title, described by Buckingham Palace as "the musical equivalent of poet laureate", include Edward Elgar.

The Society of London Theatre has appointed producer CARO NEWLING as its new President.
Chief Executive of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra MICHAEL ELLIOTT is standing down in order to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer at ABRSM, the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Previously he was Director of Culture for the DCMS.
