DEBORAH SAWYERR, currently General Manager at London’s Bush Theatre, will take over from MARY CAWS as Executive Director of the Theatre Royal, Stratford East, later this year.
LORNA BIRD, Director and founder of Ilkley Arts and the Ilkley Arts Trail, has stepped down from her role to pursue new challenges. The Ilkley Arts Board of Trustees will continue to run the Art Trail alongside the organisation’s other activities.
After working at Sage Gateshead as Director of External Relations for the past five years, DOMINIC PARKER has been announced as the new Director of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, succeeding GAVIN REID.

JANET STEEL has stepped down as Artistic Director of Kali Theatre Company after fifteen years to pursue her own projects. HELENA BELL, previously at Pursued By a Bear Productions, has been appointed as her successor.

Curator DAVID SINCLAIR is taking an 18-month secondment from the Gallery@ The Civic, Barnsley, to lead on the visual arts programme for Hull City of Culture 2017. In his absence, JASON WHITE, of Barnsley Museums Service, will join the gallery as Assistant Curator.
After three years as Director of Development for One Dance UK, FERN POTTER is leaving to pursue other interests. Development Manager JESSICA CHOI will take over her role until a successor is found.
The new Chair of Leicester Curve’s Board is former journalist and broadcaster IAN SQUIRES. He has previously been a board member for Birmingham Hippodrome and Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
Development organisation Plymouth Culture has appointed DAVID COSLETT, the former Interim Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive for Plymouth University, as Chair of its Board.
