The Academy of Ancient Music has selected ALEXANDER VAN INGEN, former Executive Producer for Artists and Repertoire at Decca Classics, as its new Chief Executive.
THOMAS CAMPBELL has resigned as CEO and Director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York after eight years in post. The museum’s President, DANIEL WEISS, is to take over as CEO until a replacement is appointed.
JOHN ORNA-ORNSTEIN is to take up a new role as Director of Curation and Experience at the National Trust from June, stepping down from his position as Director of Museums at Arts Council England.
Mezzo Soprano SALLY BURGESS has joined the ENO Board of Trustees, bringing the number of new appointees at the organisation to eight since June 2015.
GILLIAN FINDLAY, Curatorial and Engagement Manager at Edinburgh Museum and Galleries; SIMON BROWN, Curator of Social History and World Cultures at Nottingham City Museums and Galleries; and SUE MACKAY, Curator and Manager of Keswick Museum, have been elected to the Museums Association’s board.
After five years in the role, NICK GILES is to step down as Director of Shoreditch Town Hall. He will remain with the venue as an associate.
Rocket Stage, Elton John’s theatre company, has appointed JOSEPH SMITH as Producer. He leaves his role as Executive Producer at Greene Light Stage, formerly known as Old Vic Productions.
Currently Programme Manager at Warwick Arts Centre, LAURA ELLIOT is leaving to take up a new role as Programme Director at Oxford Playhouse.
ALEX EVANS, Associate Artist at Kazzum, is to become Interim Artistic Director of the company. He will replace HEIDI VAUGHAN, who has been appointed Artistic Producer of Bristol’s Travelling Light Theatre Company.
