Exceptional achievements in regional theatre across the UK have been recognised in the Barclays Theatre Awards 2002, presented by the Theatrical Management Association.
Among the winners were Wolverhampton Grand Theatre (pictured), acknowledged as the ?Most Welcoming Theatre? in recognition of the quality of its overall approach to the public. Mind...the gap receives The Stage Award for Special Achievement in Regional Theatre for its training work in the field of arts and disability; and the inaugural Eclipse Award has gone to Contact, Manchester. This Award recognises Contact?s re-focusing of its artistic vision following a period of closure, to attract a young audience and present a mix of local and national companies offering work from many cultures.
