What does your organisation do?
? works to advance the standards of dance education and training around the world
? trains teachers to teach our examination syllabus worldwide
? acts as an examining board for the RAD syllabus; over 175,000 students take our exams annually
? offers courses for dance teachers to continue their professional development
? offers degrees diplomas and certificates in dance education and notation

What does your job involve?
? responsible for global brand image and management of a portfolio of education, membership, development and corporate marketing projects
? write, edit and oversee production of all promotional materials from leaflets to annual reports, advertising and the web
? orchestrate PR events, photoshoots and filming schedules
? design and implement marketing campaigns in co-ordination with 37 international offices
? liaise with journalists, photographers and key partners to gain media coverage
? manage a team of 2.5!

Who did you used to work for?
Marketing Assistant at English National Ballet, producing programmes, display material, print and direct mail; and involved in all aspects of marketing the Christmas Campaign (The Nutcracker)

? Community Dance Animateur, Dance City, Newcastle

What do you like most about your present job?
When I arrived at RAD they had just carried out a strategic review, so the last 2 years has seen a radical re-structuring and re-branding. I have enjoyed being part of a great team in a changing organisation and being able to play a part in this.

What is most difficult in your present post?
Not being able to fully realise ideas due to lack of time and lack of money; and prioritising between departments.

What is your career ambition?
To be challenged and motivated, to work in a happy environment for an organisation or a product that I feel passionate about.

Who has most influenced your career to date?
Scilla Dyke, for helping me to see the silver lining in every cloud! For being continually supportive, encouraging and inspiring.

If you could have done any job, what would it be?
Interior designer ? taking tumbledown buildings and turning them into something amazing.

If you had three wishes for the future of the arts, what would they be?
? Not have to rely on subsidies
? Dance education to be valued as a discipline within schools and universities
? Strike the balance between nurturing and developing new talent and new initiatives, and valuing our heritage.
