What does your organisation do? We provide free out of hours music making activities for Plymouth Education Action Zone pupils, from ensemble work to individual tuition, together with curriculum support and INSET for teachers and artists

What does your current job involve?

? Tutoring ? music technology, rock and pop, vocal and guitar tuition.

? Administration ? day to day duties, including staffing, student registers and enrolment, all design work and equipment issues

? Development ? curriculum packages, operational policies, recruitment strategy, communications, artistic direction Who did you used to work for and what did you do?

? Musician (self employed) ? guitarist, tutor, midi programmer and event operations.

? Graphic Designer (Self Employed) ? trained at the Plymouth College of Art and Design immediately becoming freelance

What do you enjoy most about your present post? Knowing that children in their hundreds get quality time each week to explore, create, and experience music from our efforts.

What do you find most difficult in your present post? Having come from industry I find the funding culture, which seems to affect nearly all arts organisations, counter-productive.

What is your career ambition? My career ambition for the Music Zone is to see the project expand city-wide and offer Plymouth a real music service for all. Beyond that I still don?t know what I want to do when I grow up.

Who has influenced your career to date the most ? and why? Jim Davies ? this man gave me confidence in my musical abilities.

If you could have done any job in the world, what would you like to have done? Professional beach footballer in Rio!

If you have three wishes for the future of the arts, what would they be? More funding without the fuss!
