London Arts, together with the National Touring Programme of the Arts Council of England, has compiled a National Venue and Promoter Directory as a resource for Black musicians and Black-led music organisations seeking to develop touring programmes and audiences. t: 020 7608 6199

A Deaf Arts e-group has been established to provide news and information on arts events, opportunities and training courses for the Deaf, as well as a forum for discussion and debate. The first issue of ?Upstart?, a new quarterly magazine aimed at those working in the arts with young people, has been published by Artswork, the youth arts development agency. A trust fund has been endowed by the Scottish Executive to honour the memory of Scotland?s late First Minister Donald Dewar, by supporting young people across the arts in Scotland who have limited financial resources. A new project to establish a framework for the development of writers and writing in South Cumbria is to be managed by South Cumbria Playwrights in partnership with other writers? groups in the region. Known as ?Word Market?, the project will include training workshops, commissions and an annual festival.
