A series of one-day workshops enabling those in the creative industries or social sectors to take an in-depth look at the relationship between their professional and personal lives are being held in Central London during July, August and September. The Campaign for Drawing is seeking new partners to help create a major UKwide focus on drawing for its annual Big Draw on October 20. Last year, three hundred organisations, including the Science Museum, the National Gallery, Liverpool Prison, the House of Lords and numerous hospitals, schools and art clubs, arranged drop-in drawing activities or exhibitions. The City of London Sinfonia has announced a four-year £1m sponsorship deal with Marsh & McLennan Companies. The sponsorship will support London concert seasons (mainly at the Barbican), regional concerts, education and community work, and residencies in High Wycombe, Ipswich and King?s Lynn. The Orchestra estimates that its audience reach will increase from 70,000 to over 100,000 per year. _

Resource:The Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries, has published an independent study which concludes that single regional agencies should be established in all English regions as quickly as possible, in order to exploit opportunities and build strategic capacity. At present the English regions consist of Regional Library Agencies, Regional Archives Councils and Area Museums Councils. Only two cross-domain agencies have been developed so far, in the North East and the East Midlands. _

A digitisation award from the New Opportunities Fund is to enable the British Music Information Centre to make available for the first time more than 100,000 pages of score and background information on composers in digital form on-line. For users unable to read musical score, sound samples will provide brief portraits in sound of several hundred composers.
