A draft Corporate Plan outlining the aims and objectives of the Scottish Arts Council over the next five years has been published by the Scottish Arts Council (SAC).
The Plan is based on a series of recently agreed strategies for Crafts, Dance, Drama, Literature, Music and Visual Arts. Key themes to be addressed across all artforms will include arts education, audience development, cultural tourism, social justice and area development. The Plan is still to be finalised in the light of an internal review of funding schemes and procedures currently underway at SAC, and its implementation will depend on adequate funding being made available by the Scottish Executive and the National Lottery Fund. A final version of the Plan with detailed actions for 2003/04 and beyond will be published in spring 2003. SAC is welcoming comments on the draft Plan, copies of which are downloadable at http://www.scottisharts.org.uk or from the Help Desk. t: 0845 603 6000
