The Artsmark award, which is made by the Arts Council of England to recognise schools that have made a strong commitment to the arts and developed a range of arts provisions for pupils, has been awarded to a further 566 schools in England.
145 of these have been awarded Gold awards. Artsmark recognition is becoming increasingly desirable, with 200 more applications being made in this second round than in the first round last year. The closing date for the third round of Artsmark is December 2002. For further details t: 0800 0560196
