The Scottish Arts Council (SAC) has consolidated its previous artform committees into two new committees, one for the Creative Arts and the other for the Performing Arts, to help monitor its aims and objectives and shape its work.

Members from these committees will also sit on SAC?s Capital Committee, to ensure that capital projects, including public art, buildings and other equipment, are aligned to the organisation?s overall aims. The committees will be responsible for evaluating SAC?s funding support for artists and arts organisations and will play a lead role in scrutinising the activities of core-funded organisations and reporting their views to Council members. Although many funding decisions will be delegated to individual departments, awards of over £250,000 will be evaluated by the committees and core-funded grants will be agreed by Council members. Large awards of over £1m will be the responsibility of Council members.
