BBC Learning in Drama and Entertainment is launching ?Get Writing? a year-long campaign to encourage creative writing.
The first season of the initiative concentrates on short story writing and will use the themes from BBC1?s ?Canterbury Tales? to explore how to get started. BBCi at http://www.bbc.co.uk/getwriting will offer ideas and advice and provide an opportunity for writers to meet online. It will also give details of 12 creative writing events being held across the UK in September and October, enabling attenders to meet writers from The Canterbury Tales, members of the BBC production team and successful local writers. A competition will offer five viewers new to creative writing the chance to have their stories read on radio by members of the series? cast.
