The Scottish Arts Council?s proposals for the creation of a Writers? Factory to support Scotland?s writers of television drama, film screenplays sitcoms and radio plays, are to be explored through a feasibility study funded by the Scottish Executive.
A full consultation is taking place to determine the best way to set up such a venture and the types of partnership needed to offer the best industry expertise for the UK and abroad. The aim of a Writers? Factory would be to offer writers the kind of training and experience in Scotland which will help them get commissions in a competitive international market place.
